StoryJam by SCMP is a storytelling platform that empowers students to explore ideas, express perspectives and develop their voices through authentic, real-world topics.
Open to students across Hong Kong and Asia, the competition invites participants to engage with issues, experiences and questions that matter to them — transforming ideas into stories that inform, inspire and connect.
Formerly known as STANCE, StoryJam marks the next chapter of SCMP's flagship youth storytelling platform. While a clear individual point of view remains the platform’s cornerstone, StoryJam places the craft of expression front and centre, spotlighting the essential skill of shaping a unique worldview into a compelling narrative with real-world resonance.
Evolving from a single competition into a broader storytelling ecosystem, this year’s event unfolds across three distinct pathways, spanning both written and spoken formats.
For the first time, primary school students are also welcome to participate, creating an inclusive platform where young storytellers of all ages can build confidence, strengthen critical thinking and develop the communication skills needed to articulate what they believe with clarity and impact.
